Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Anthony (Tony) Murphy CD announce his sudden passing at the age of 63. He is greatly missed by his family and all who knew him. Left with loving memories are his wife Susie, daughter Anita (Mike), son Martin (Stephanie), grandchildren Abby and Alex, brothers Gary (Crystal), Terry (Rose), Brian, and Bruce, and sisters Judy (Gordon), and Lisa (Daryl), along with many nieces, nephews, and brother and sister-in-laws. He was predeceased by his father Peter, mother Anita, and sister Dianne.

Tony was born in Corner Brook, NL and served in the Canadian Armed Forces in Dartmouth, NS until he retired and moved with his family to Gambo, NL in 2001. He continued working, again serving with the Canadian Armed Forces and then later as a Commissionaire both in Gander, NL. He was a caring and kind husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, who was always quick to lend a hand to anyone who needed something. He loved his family, being outdoors, and going to the cabin.

His memory will live on in each of his family members and he will be forever loved.

Visitation will be family only due to covid protocols.

The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, May 21, at St. George's Anglican Church. Please let the family know if you wish to attend as the church requires the list of names in advance and has a limit on numbers due covid protocols.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wounded Warriors Canada or Soldier On - organizations that provide support to veterans and first responders.
