"my father loved the Saviour, what a soldier he had been! But his steps will be more steady, when the saints go marching in!"


With great sadness the family of the late Arthur Parsons announce his peaceful passing at Bonnew's Lodge on May 27th, 2024 at the age of 100 years.


He was predeceased by his parents Martin and Irene Parsons, baby boy Martin, his wife Blanche (1990), second wife Janet (2010), granddaughter Merisha, brothers - Fred, John, Llewelyn, Pearce, Alpheaus, Guy and Lewis, sisters - Myrtle and Ethel, and son-in-law Eldred Keats.


Leaving to mourn his passing and appreciate his loving and comical nature are his seven children - Elizabeth Keats, Martin (Joyce) Parsons, Rita (Dave) Parsons, Hilda (Jim) Shave, Arthur (Vicky) Parsons, Brenda Russell and Dean (Barb) Parsons, step-son David (Rosemary) Wells, sister-in-law Daphne Parsons, son-in-law Craig Russell, a large number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and family friends.


He will be incredibly missed by all who knew him.

The Parsons family would like to express their utmost gratitude to the staff of Bonnew's Lodge, Valley Vista Senior Citizens Home and the Medical Unit at JPMRHC for their loving and attentive care, as well as his two special home care workers Edith Brentnall and Rita Pritchett for the years of care they provided.


Any monetary donations can be forwarded to The Salvation Army Cemetery Fund in Gambo in honour of his memory.

Resting at Pritchett's Funeral Home. Visitations Tuesday, May 28, 3-9 PM; Wednesday, May 29, 2 - 9 PM. Funeral Service will be at the Salvation Army 2 PM on Thursday May 30. Interment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Gambo
