It's with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bernice Elizabeth Russell after a Brief but
courageous battle with cancer. Bernice passed away peacefully at James Paton Memorial Hospital on
March 27 th 2023 at the age of 65 with her family by her side.
Bernice was born May 11 th 1957 in Deer Lake and moved to Gambo at the age of 5 years old.
On March 15 th of 1975 she married her husband Eugene Russell of Bonavista and on December 24 th 1975
she had her first born son Jason. On November 19 th 1977 her second David was born. They then moved
to Benton 1976 until they decided to move back to Gambo in January of 1991. While in Benton she
found good friends that became family.
Bernice is predeceased by her parents Howard and Annie Lush, Father and Mother in law Walter and
Phyllis Russell.
Left to mourn, her husband Eugene of 48 years, son Jason (Janine), son David (Laura). Her grandchildren
Dustin (Samantha), Brady (Keshia), Lucas, Parker (Charlee), Ryder, and Savanah. Great grandchildren
Kane and Brayden. Sisters/Brothers Bruce, Margaret (Mike), Daphne (Dave), Max (Loretta), Melvin
(Joyce), Olive (Avalaon), Joyce (Marshall), Neta (Carl), Judy (Darren), Garry (Rachel), Gerald (Evelyn),
Joan (Richard). Sisters/Brothers in law, Andy (Linda), Gloria (Ted), Dennis (Pauline), Richie, Gary (Sheila),
Irene, Cathy (Chuck), Wally (Beryl), Elizabeth, Debbie (Jeff). Along with many nieces nephews and a long
list of friends.
Bernice loved to rock in her rocking chair and watch the Toronto Maple Leafs with her sons and
husband. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and spoiling all of them, especially her only
grand daughter Savannah.
Bernice was looking forward to seeing her grandson Dustin marry Samantha in August of this year, but
unfortunately the lord called her home.
She has left a void that will never be filled. We will love her forever and miss her dearly.

Visitation times are Tuesday and Wednesday March 28 and 29  from 2 PM - 9 PM

Funeral Service will be held at the Salvation Army, Gambo,  2 PM on Thursday March 30h.

Interment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery - Gambo.
