Passed peacefully away at Gander Long Term Care on June 16, 2026, with her loving family by her side.

Predeceased by her beloved husband of 55 years, Roy; parents, Stanley and Jennie Burt; in-laws, Samuel and Gladys Snelgrove; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Majors Herbert and Pearl Snelgrove.

Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children, Janice (Donald), Marlene (Jamie), Chris (Susan), and Charmaine (Paul); grandchildren, Travis, Jordan, Hilary, Ryan, Emily, and Luke; sisters, Carol (Bob) Reynolds and Suzanne (Edward) Pynn; sister-in-law, Joanne (Richard) Morrissey; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Doris was a quiet and gentle lady who was devoted to the care of her family, giving them her love, unwavering support, and encouragement throughout their lives. There was absolutely nothing she would not do if it meant helping those she loved. She possessed a remarkable thoughtfulness, never missing a birthday, anniversary, or special milestone, and delighted in doing the little things that made everyone feel uniquely loved and remembered.

She was blessed with many lifelong friends who truly appreciated the person she was - kind, caring, considerate, devoted, and exceptionally hospitable. She enjoyed joining others in exploring new hobbies and interests while continuing to develop her own talents. Doris also had a deep love of travel and was fortunate to visit many places with family and friends, creating cherished memories along the way.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Doris will be gratefully accepted by the family and directed to the Gambo Sensory Trail.

Funeral services will be held at the Salvation Army Gambo Citadel on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. and may be viewed online from the link below.
