Emma Jean Bennett
October 21, 1934 – July 12, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Emma Jean Bennett at
Lakeside Homes, Gander, NL on July 12, 2024, at the age of 89.
Emma was a beloved and devoted Mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great
grandmother.
She was predeceased by her parents Charlie and Susie Oram, Jack Oram (Brother), Levie
Critchley (Sister), Esau Oram (Brother), Samuel Wade (Common Law Husband), Claude
Bennett (Husband) and several siblings who died in childhood.
She leaves to mourn her loving children Albert Bennett (Colleen), Glenn Bennett (Emma), Paul
Bennett (Darlene), Keith Bennett, Brian Bennett (Peggy). Six grandchildren, 7 great-
grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Sisters Elsie Reid, Lucy Lane, and Mary Wade
(Ray), and a large circle of extended family and friends.
Visitation will take place at Pritchett's Funeral Home, Gambo, Nf., on Sunday July 14, 2024,
from 2 pm - 3 pm for family only, from 3 pm - 9 pm for public and on Monday, July 15, 2024,
from 3 pm - 9 pm for public.
The Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday July 16, 2024 at 2:00 pm at the Gambo
Salvation Army Church. Internment will follow at the Gambo Salvation Army Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Emma can be made to the Gambo Salvation Army Church.
Our Mother (Emma) is best remembered as a woman who devoted her entire life to taking care
of her five sons. Her sons were the center of her life. When mother was healthy, she was
faithful to her church, the Salvation Army Home League and not a person died without mother

attending their funeral. She was a hard worker, a strong woman with outstanding determination,
never seeking the limelight and most contented when taking care of others.
