Harlan Benjamin Pritchett, age 69, died in the company of his wife on Oct 1st, 2022, at the
James Paton Memorial Hospital in Gander after a short and courageous battle with lung cancer.
Harlan was born in 1953 in Gambo to Martin and Martha Pritchett and grew up surrounded by a
large family. In his twenties he moved to Labrador to work in the mines, returning home one June day
when he awoke to snow in his canoe. He was back at his mother's table enjoying dinner that same
evening.
In 1985 he met and married the love of his life, Joanne Pritchett. They settled in Gambo and
raised two children. Harlan held many jobs over the years, and there wasn't a time when he was not
working. If he had an idle moment he filled it with tinkering in his shed, building something for his
grandchildren, or adding to his "junk" pile. There was nothing he couldn't fix.
Harlan loved nothing more than being a father and grandfather. His grandchildren were his
pride and joy. From building wooden cars and trains, to pushing them in a wheelbarrow, or teaching
them to ride a bike, he filled every moment with love and laughter.
Harlan loved being surrounded by his family and friends, keeping his house warm, and filling it
with laughter, Bob Dylan, and many a cold beer with his buddies.
Harlan is predeceased by his parents, Martin and Martha Pritchett, and brother-in-law Tony
Murphy.
Left to mourn and cherish the memories are his wife, Joanne Pritchett, his son Hedley (Nicole),
his daughter Emily (Tracy), and stepson Gregg (Elizabeth), along with grandchildren Kaziah, Evan,
Harlan, Joseph, Summer, Bella, and Ariyah.
Also left to mourn are brothers Sterling (Linda), Clyde (Lucy), and Hedley, and sisters Bernice
(Alvin), Madge (Francis), Betty (Len), Rowena (Bruce), and Suzy, along with a large circle of family
and beloved friends.

Resting at Pritchett's Funeral Home. Visitation Monday 4 - 9 PM;  Tuesday  2 - 9 PM.

Funeral Service from the Anglican Church, Gambo  2 PM on Wednesday. Interment to follow at the Anglican Church Cemetery, Gambo.
