DYKE, Jeanie Michelle

February 22, 1970 - November 6, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jeanie Dyke (née Boland) on November 6th, 2024 at James Paton Memorial Regional Health Center.

Predeceased by her mom Linda, grandmother Mary, aunt Evelyn, step-grandmother Shirley, uncle Lawrence and grandparents Clarence and Hilda.

Leaving to mourn her husband Darren, daughters Cassidy (Nick) and Amy, dad Hiram (Sheila), grandfather Gordon, siblings Michelle (Mike), Hiram (Cassie), Ashley (John), and Shauna (Steve), parents-in-law Gerald and Louise, brothers-in-law Jamie (Lori) and Sheldon (Jessica), nieces and nephews Josh, Chase, Lynnae, Hiram Ray, Joelle, Breeleigh, Reya, Amelia, Abby, Matthew, Lily, Gracie, Liam, Amber, and great-nephew Roen. Also sharing the loss are a large circle of aunts, uncles, and cousins along with many coworkers, students, friends, and fur babies.

Jeanie was a beautiful person, inside and out. Even as a young girl, she had a heart of gold and always took care of everyone. She wanted to rescue every animal and was the best big sister. She was incredibly supportive of everyone's accomplishments and never missed an opportunity to show up for her family. She was also immensely proud of her husband and two daughters. She didn't want the spotlight on herself but would beam with pride watching those she loved shine.

Jeanie's other passion in life was teaching. She spent many years as the Instructional Resource Teacher at William Mercer Academy where she was devoted to her students and  selflessly gave whatever she could to make sure everyone was cared for and included. She absolutely loved being a member of the WMA family.

Her welcoming smile and inviting nature made you feel loved and accepted, no matter what. She brought warmth and kindness wherever she went and she'll be greatly missed by those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

The family would like to thank the staff of General Surgery and Dr. Paulus for their exceptional care and compassion during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, the family would request that a donation be made to the Gander and Area SPCA.

Resting at Pritchett's Funeral Home in Gambo. Visitation from 3:00-9:00 on Thursday, November 7th and 3:00-9:00 on Friday, November 8th.

Funeral to be held on Saturday, November 9th at 2:00 at The Salvation Army Gambo Citadel Corps.
