Obituary

Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer on September 4, 2020, John Alexander Kelly of Gambo. Johnny was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Claire and his In-laws Danny and Mulliadh, his infant son Ian, his grandson William, his brothers Vince and Pat, his sister Regina and his brother-in-law Sterling. Leaving to mourn after 58 years of marriage are his loving wife Elsie, devoted children Michelle (Ken), Neil (Sherry), Peter (Nadine) and Leslie (David). Cherished grandchildren Thomas, Catherine, Erin, Laura, Leah and Rebecca. Brother Charlie and wife Gaye. Also leaving to mourn his many brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike and Melina, Kelly and Bob, Bunty and Jackie, Patsy and Harold, Danny and Geraldine, Heather and Ted, Cameron and Cheryl, Catriona and Lloyd, Fiona and Doug, Elizabeth and Brian and Ewan and Cindy. Johnny will be especially missed by his lifetime friend Tommy.  He also leaves to mourn many nieces and nephews as well as other family members and friends throughout Gambo, the Province of Newfoundland and the Mainland. Johnny was a master mechanic his entire life and an avid sportsman with fishing as his greatest passion and playing poker a close second. With his vibrant personality and love of life, he touched all whom he encountered, whether briefly or for a lifetime. He will be dearly missed by all. Due to Covid 19 restrictions, cremation has taken place with funeral services to be announced at a later date.

Funeral Services will be held at the Roman Catholic Church at 11:00 AM Friday August 20, 2021. Inurnment to follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery. The family will be gathering at the family home following the services.
