Obituary

Rita Pearl Pritchett (nee Warren)

August 3, 1937 - April 20, 2024

Rita, age 86, passed peacefully away at Lakeside Homes on April 20, 2024.  She was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Kenneth Pritchett; her parents, Benjamin and Susanna Warren; her sister Mary Warren; brothers Phillip and James Warren; her mother and father in law Annie and Augustus Pritchett; as well as numerous other brother and sister in laws.

Left to mourn her passing and appreciate her life are her five daughters; Melissa Pritchett (Chad Lane); Marina John (Roger); Christine Burt (Steven); Bernice Pritchett; and Yvonne DeCaire (Leon); grandchildren Jessica Pritchett, Jillian Thorne, Heather Burt, Luke Burt, Mary-Ann Pritchett, Emily, Katie and Jenny DeCaire; sister, Sadie MacIsaac; 6 great grandchildren, and a large number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Rita grew up in Glenwood and met Ken Pritchett at the age of 20. They courted for 7 years and were married on August 12, 1964. They raised five daughters in Glenwood who she was very proud of. She was a wonderful mother who was always home supporting and encouraging her girls in everything they wanted to do.

Ken passed away in 2007, and 7 years later Rita moved to Gander with her daughter Melissa where she lived for five years. She was very involved in her children's and grandchildren's lives.

Rita then moved to Bonnews Lodge in Badger's Quay for two years and, then finally, to Lakeside Homes in Gander for her last two years.

She will be missed greatly by all who had the pleasure of being with her. Special thanks to all the staff of Bonnews Lodge and Lakeside Homes.  All staff at both homes were especially attentive and treated her like family.  You will always have our appreciation for everything you did for our Mom.
