Scott Saunders

4 October 1937 - 30 December 2023

It's with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Scott Saunders, a wonderful and much-loved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and man.  He passed away amidst family at James Paton Memorial Hospital in Gander.

Scott will be fondly remembered for his kind, giving heart, gentle nature, and goofy sense-of-humour.  He was a founding member of the Gambo Fire Department.  After retirement, he was proud to don the uniform and attend all their functions.  Scott loved to walk in nature, go bird-watching, and was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Predeceased by wife Frances, parents James & Lydia Saunders, and siblings Ruby (William) Pitcher, Winnie Dobson, Mary (John) Carty, George (Martha), Maxine Chaffey, Greta, Patsy, Roy, and Bruce.  Also predeceased by in-laws Daniel & Cecilia Collins.

Left to mourn with cherished memories:

Children Elaine (Lin) Paul, Susan (Pat) Hapgood, Morgan (Irene), Ruby (Floyd) Collins, and Jim.

Grandchildren Kelly (Paul) Durdle, Patti (Dennis Squire) Moss, Deanne (Corey Squire) Hapgood, Candace (Kyle) Kisway, Amy Collins, Christa, Kyle, and Jonathan (Sara) Paul.

Great-grandchildren Allyson (Merwin) Haight, Hannah (Dylan Cameron) Moss, Nathan Squire, Hunter Andrews, Carlee Andrews, and Riley Kisway.

Sister-in-law Elizabeth, and many nieces & nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Lisa Gault, home care worker turned family friend.
