With broken hearts we share Wayne's passing on Monday, August 28th, 2023 with his loving family by his side, after a  2 year courageous battle with cancer.  Wayne was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend.  All who knew him, knew what a kind and generous person he was.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 50 years, Pauline (Payne), daughter Natasha (Chad )Pittman of Swan Hills, AB,  grandsons Nick Pittman (Brittany Smith) of Swan Hills, AB and Mackenzie Wade of Clarenville, brother Barry (Kay) of Gander, sister Wanda (David) Pittman of Gander, brother Sheldon (Diana) of CBS, brothers in law Edgar Payne and Gary Payne of Gambo, sisters in law Rebecca Briffett of Glovertown and Gertie Payne of Gambo, fur baby Lenny, many nieces and nephews, extended family and his Aunt Susie, Aunt Flossie, Aunt Melv and Aunt Lizzie who were near and dear to his heart.

Predeceased by his beautiful daughter Jennifer Warren, his parents Abe and Mary Warren, parents in law Cyril and Rita Payne, brother Bobby Warren and brothers in law Baxter, Ross, Calvin Payne, Glenn Briffett and nephew Shaun Briffett.

Wayne was born and raised in Gambo, served 2 years in the Royal Canadian Navy and was a 34 year veteran of the RCMP.  In 1973, he married his loving wife, Pauline and together they raised two beautiful daughters, Natasha and Jennifer.

Wayne retired and started living the best years of his life enjoying family, his cabin, hunting, fishing with his buddies, snowmobiling, traveling, playing guitar, dinner theatres, giving to others and volunteering in the community.

In recent years Wayne reconnected with his faith and accepted Jesus Christ into his heart.   There were no denominations to Wayne, it was whosever will may come and whatever church door or church group or event, he was there and was conflicted when church events coincided.
He leaned on his faith and in recent months, his only request of all who came in contact with him was to pray for him and pray that Jesus would guide the Doctors that would be able to help him.

Wayne had great care provided to him by the Dr. H Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre, and JPMH . When all possible treatments were exhausted, Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto provided some hope. With Pauline by his side, he flew to Toronto for a chance to fight on. Despite the great care they provided his health quickly declined and his last wish was to come back home. After a life threatening air ambulance flight  he made it home for his final days surround by those who loved him. During the past few years the many visits, phone calls, support and prayers were a tremendous source of joy, comfort and peace to him.

Visitations at Pritchett's Funeral Home:  Thursday  10 AM - 9 PM   ;  Saturday  9 AM - 1 PM

The Funeral Service will be at the Salvation Army Church 2 PM, Saturday.  Inurnment to follow at the United Church Cemetery
